PEER REVIEW PROCESS

At Pen Akademik, we adhere strictly to the peer review process, which is the cornerstone of reliable scientific publishing, and maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and quality. Every manuscript submitted to our journals undergoes a rigorous peer review process.

  • The manuscript is reviewed by the editorial team to ensure that it is in line with the scope, standards, writing rules, and ethical guidelines of the journal.
  • If the manuscript is deemed suitable during the editorial review stage, the peer review process begins. If it is not deemed suitable, authors may be asked to revise their manuscript or it may be rejected.
  • Qualified manuscript are subject to double-blind peer review, in which independent and anonymous expert reviewers evaluate the work.
  • Throughout this process, reviewers remain unaware of each other's and the authors' identities, and authors also receive no information about the reviewers.
  • The editor makes the final decision on whether to accept, revise, or reject the manuscript based on comprehensive peer review reports.
  • For manuscripts requiring major or minor revisions, the peer review process may be repeated to confirm that all recommended improvements have been adequately addressed, or the editor may directly accept the revised manuscript.
  • The publication process for accepted manuscripts is initiated.

Our peer review policy reflects Pen Academic's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the principles of transparent and impartial scientific communication. By adhering strictly to internationally accepted ethical standards, including those set by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), we provide a fair, comprehensive and robust review process that contributes meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge.

DIGITAL ARCHIVE

Website Archiving

All of our electronic content (website, manuscripts, etc.) is stored in three different sources. The content on one server is online and accessible to readers. A copy of the same content is kept as a backup in the other sources.

In the event of a server failure, any of the other sources can be made available online, and the website is expected to be accessible within 24-36 hours.

Abstracting/Indexing Services

Our journal's abstracting/indexing services store a lot of basic information about manuscripts. In addition, one of our journal's abstracting/indexing services archives not only the metadata about the manuscripts but also the electronic versions of the manuscripts. Therefore, copies of the manuscripts are made available to the scientific community through their own systems as an alternative to the journal's own systems.

Self-archiving

Authors can archive the final published version of their manuscripts in personal or institutional repositories immediately after publication.

If the journal ceases publication

We intend and expect to continue publishing our journal for a very long time. If, due to rare and unfortunate circumstances, we are forced to cease publication of the journal, manuscripts published in the journal will remain online and accessible to readers for at least 10 years. Under certain conditions, such as the discontinuation of the collection or a catastrophic failure of the website, access to the content will be available via OAI.
